Russian FPV (First-Person View) drone detected enemy tank using sound
A Russian FPV (First-Person View) drone operator reportedly detected an approaching enemy armored vehicle by sound rather than sight.
The drone was placed directly into the vegetation to stay concealed. While lying hidden in the bushes, its onboard microphone picked up the acoustic noise of the vehicle moving along a nearby road. This allowed the operator to identify the direction and presence of the target acoustically before lifting off or revealing the drone's position visually.
By utilising sound detection instead of continuously hovering or searching via the camera feed, the drone avoided exposing itself to enemy visual detection until it was ready to execute the strike.
